Physical exercise is underway for this. Initially it is likely to run on routes from Delhi to Dehradun, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Bhopal, Lucknow, Kanpur, Jaipur. Since Shatabdi trains are already operating on this route and now only Shatabdi trains are being replaced by Vande Bharat trains. In such a scenario, it is likely that the new Vande Bharat trains will run on this route first.
According to sources, Railways is preparing to bring sleeper coaches to Vande India soon. Routes that have the necessary infrastructure to increase speed will allow trains to run at higher speeds on the route and speed tests have been carried out from 130 to 150 kmph. Currently, the Shatabdi train takes 3 hours and 20 minutes from Delhi to Chandigarh. Passengers will be able to reach Chandigarh from Delhi in just an hour and a half by Vande Bharat train. Similarly, it takes 6 hours to reach Amritsar from Shatabdi. The tour will also be completed in 5 hours by Vande Bharat train.
