New Delhi: The wife of a Haryana IPS officer not only harassed her 22-year-old maid, but also did not pay her salary and robbed her of her phone. The victim said this in a zero FIR lodged at the Fatehpur Beri police station in South Delhi. He was allegedly forced to work for a year after being beaten, but did not pay a penny. DCP (South) Binita Mary Jayakar said the matter has been referred to Haryana’s Panchkula Superintendent of Police for further investigation.

The 22-year-old victim, originally from Assam, lives with her family in Fatehpur Berry Extension. He told the police that he had studied up to 10th standard. A girl living in Gurgaon had her mother’s work done. The girl was asked by her mother to give her a job. Last year, the same girl hired him from an IPS officer in Panchkula, who is the superintendent of police (SP) there. IPS wife Manisha took him to Panchkula from Gurgaon on March 8, 2021. It was decided to pay a salary of 20 thousand rupees per month.

According to the FIR, the maid’s work started after she reached Panchkula. Everything went well for a month. But then Madame started beating him. She didn’t even let him talk to family members. Beatings were forced. A week ago there was a lot of beatings and phone snatching. Locked in a room. Madame along with her servant kicked him out of the house on 5 February. Salary was also not paid. The victim’s mother Manju Bora claimed that her one-year-old daughter’s salary was Rs 2 lakh 40 thousand. But nothing is given. He alleged that gold ornaments on the nose, ears and neck were also kept by the madam. He also did not provide school certificate, Aadhaar card, PAN card and bank passbook.
