Srinagar: Police in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district have arrested 11 people and busted two terrorist modules belonging to the banned terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed. An official spokesman said in Srinagar on Tuesday that criminal material, including weapons and ammunition, had been recovered from them.

The spokesperson said, “Based on credible information, a conspiracy was hatched by the banned terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed to attack the police / security forces in Shrigufwara / Bijbehra areas of Anantnag. Several check posts were set up at various places.” The spokesperson said that he has revealed that he is an ally of Jaish-e-Mohammed and is in direct contact with his masters based in Pakistan and at their behest they are going to attack the police / security forces.

Six terrorists arrested in Bijbehra
“After their revelations, two more terrorists were arrested,” he said. He said police had arrested six terrorists and busted another terrorist module in Bijbehara area. Earlier in January, a militant was killed during an encounter with police in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. At the same time, a policeman was also killed in the firing.

Jaish militants were killed by security forces in January
Three soldiers were injured in the operation. Two civilians were also injured in the crossfire. Security forces shot dead a Jaish militant. According to the information received, the police had received information that terrorists were hiding in the Parivan area of ‚Äč‚ÄčKulgam. Based on this information, the police, army and CRPF cordoned off the entire area. The terrorists were told to surrender. But the firing started from the terrorists. After which the security forces also gave a scathing response.
