Former Jammu and Kashmir CM and senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad has been awarded the Padma Bhushan. In this regard, the Congress is seen to be divided into two groups. Leaders like Shashi Tharoor and Raj Babbar have congratulated Ghulam Nabi Azad, while former Union Minister Jairam Ramesh has taken aim.

Jairam Ramesh has taunted Ghulam Nabi Azad on the pretext of former Bengal CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee. Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee’s name was also included in the Padma Bhushan list but the veteran CPM leader refused to accept the honor. Reacting to Buddhadeb Bhattacharya’s decision, Jairam Ramesh tweeted, “He has taken the right step, he wants to be free, not a slave.”

Shashi Tharoor congratulated
Jairam Ramesh’s tweet is indirectly believed to be about Ghulam Nabi Azad. However, no response has been received from Ghulam Nabi Azad so far. On the other hand, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has congratulated Ghulam Nabi Azad on receiving the honor.

Shashi Tharoor tweeted, ‘Congratulations to Ghulam Nabi Azad for being awarded the Padma Bhushan. It is good to be honored by the government of another party for one’s contribution to public service.

Raj Babbar said the inspiration
Raj Babbar also congratulated Azad. He tweeted, ‘Congratulations Ghulam Nabi Azad Saheb! You are like a big brother and your impeccable public life and commitment to Gandhian ideals has always been inspiring. Padma Bhushan is the full recognition of your 5 decades of efficient service to the nation.
