Public Reviews

Herbert Damien: One of the unfortunate things about the Bay Area right now is that local and state governments will not pursue or prosecute four petty crimes for losses, damage, or theft under the amount of $940. With that said, in the neighborhood I live in, San Francisco, my car has been broken into many times over the years as required by windows to be replaced. So at least a few times a year, I get to call Safelite auto glass to clean up the mess of the broken windows and install a new window(s). Their service is efficient, and their services are fast, booking and payments are easy through my insurance company—the guys at the shop or always professional and friendly. I guess the price of a window is pretty high, so be prepared to spend $500 for any one of your windows to be replaced for a fairly modern car. They are definitely less expensive places to go but generally they take longer to get a fixed and their work could possibly NOT be guaranteed.

Gary Pinney: OMG! the most irritating experience I’ve ever had. And it wasn’t even my car. I witnessed someone have to go through months of hardship, and even what they did caused her to become sick. If you just have a crack it’ll be okay. But replacing a windshield is a nightmare. It’s impossible to get a live person on the phone, and when you do, they have a plethora of excuses to why they can’t get to your vehicle at the time they said.

Russwig: Pretty accommodating, I was in and out in 90 minutes. Never got a calibration report. Had to back fill one 6″ section beneath the passenger wiper blade because the moulding wasn’t tight to the glass and I was worried about water freezing in the space if it got cold enough. Otherwise the job was clean. 2016 Prius.

Skyler Clarke: Took about 45 minutes to repair a small crack, about the size of a dime. Are these black specks normal? They’re in the epoxy they used to fill the crack so that sucks if it’s permanent. I used a white napkin to highlight the black spots in the pics.

Milt IncydeJuice: Extortion. My insurance never called to tell me the procedure would cost me $570. If they had, i would have waited or dropped the idea altogether, with current economics as they are. Safelite was supposed to verify my coverage before the procedure. I called and emailed six times; no response.] NM I brought proof of insurance for everyone’s peace of mind but nobody checked it to ensure i was covered. And who walks around with $570 extra dollars for no reason? (If you answered, ‘I do,’ okay, congratulations; WHAT are you doing reading this?) It was nice of the guy at the desk to offer to take 40 bucks off the bill but for some of us the difference between $570 & $530 is negligible. When i told him my dilemma, he explained that he didn’t work at that unit normally and a week later I STILL can’t figure out what that meant; maybe he thought that since he worked in Concord that I would abandon my whole deadbeat angle and throw down six hundred dollars.

My insurer failed to do its job. I can’t say Safelite did its job. I did. I paid for a year of insurance.
