Garrett Burke said: Brought in my 2013 Mercedes C300 that was broken in to and everything seemed to be going smoothly at first.

I was quoted $400.00 to replace the front driver and passenger windows, put down a $200.00 deposit. Seems like a great deal since the dealer wanted $1000.00 to fix it. A few days later went in to drop it off and later that day they called to let me know it was ready.

Went to lunch and immediately noticed when I shut my door, it sounds like a lot of broken glass (from the break in) is rolling around inside my door.

Nobody thought to inform me prior to putting down the deposit or paying the final $200.00 + tax – that I was going to end up with a bunch of leftover glass in my door.

My expectation (as someone who is not an auto glass expert) was that the job would be no different than going to the dealer, aside from an aftermarket glass being used. Not so. You’d think in 2022 a business would have learned by now to inform their customers ahead of time about something like this. I haven’t had an issue like this with a business in a long time.

Now the dealer wants $400.00 to open up the doors and remove the glass, and Discount Auto Glass refused to remove the glass without paying them an additional $400.00 … so now it’s going to cost me $800.00 for an inferior job and extra wasted time, compared to if I had went to the dealer and paid $1000.00 .

All I expected was the same job the dealer would have done, or to be informed prior to the work being done, so I could have made an informed decision. Why would someone who doesn’t know about auto glass already expect anything else?

I’ve had a dealer quote me $1200 for a windshield replacement with a mandatory lane assist sensor recalibration. Discount Auto Glass got me out the door for $450 with OEM glass (pictured) and it turned out I didn’t even need the sensor recalibrated!

Told me all the instructions I needed to know before I left. Was decent price for a front windshield tinted on a Minivan. I would definitely recommend and this is the second time we have been there. We took our other car there as well.
