Mumbai Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar merged into Panchatatva at Shivaji Park in Dadar, Mumbai on Sunday. His funeral was attended by eminent personalities of the country including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, senior Congress leaders were not seen. Due to which people are reacting harshly to Maharashtra Congress. This is also the question people are asking Congress leaders. State president Nana Patole told the media the reason was to protect the party from negative publicity. He said many Maharashtra Congress leaders and ministers are currently infected with corona and are in quarantine. Due to which many people could not attend Lata Didi’s funeral. I also went to his funeral because of the death of one of my relatives. Tribute was paid at Tilak Bhavan Nana Patole said that the Congress had paid homage to Lata Mangeshkar at Tilak Bhavan in Dadar. He said that Balasaheb Thorat, Ashok Chavan and Amit Deshmukh are all infected with Korona. So they could not participate even if they wanted to. I also went to my sister-in-law’s funeral. However, Mumbai Congress President Bhai Jagtap and our team were present at Dadar Shivaji Park.
Mangeshkar will meet the family Nana Patole said he would go to his house to meet the Mangeshkar family at 4 pm on Monday. He said Education Minister Varsha Gaekwad was also out of Mumbai. Many leaders traveled outside the city on Saturday and Sunday. Aslam Sheikh was also outside Mumbai. Many were out of connectivity range. Due to which they too could not reach Shivaji Park.
Another person after Bal Thackeray Lata Mangeshkar became the second person to be buried at Shivaji Park in Dadar after Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray. There were family ties between Bal Thackeray and Lata. The two had a lot of respect for each other. But who knew that Lataji would also be laid to rest at the same place where Bal Thackeray was buried on November 17, 2012. Lata Mangeshkar’s funeral was held at Shivaji Park, a short distance from where Bal Thackeray was buried.
