MumbaiMumbai police have arrested three people from Haryana in connection with a chat on the Clubhouse app, who allegedly made obscene remarks against Muslim women. Officials gave this information on Friday. The men were arrested on Thursday night by cyber police personnel of the Mumbai Crime Branch, officials said. Two of the accused will be produced in court today. Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi tweeted congratulations to the city police for their arrest in the case.

He tweeted congratulations to Mumbai Police. They have also prosecuted clubhouse chats and made some arrests. Delhi Police on Wednesday wrote a letter to the clubhouse app and search engine Google seeking information about the alleged organizer of the audio group chat in which “obscene remarks were made against Muslim women”.

Official sources said that the police had also identified some members of the ‘group audio chat’ as part of the investigation, including men and women from both the communities. The Mumbai-based organization had on Wednesday lodged a complaint with the city police about the ‘clubhouse app’ and demanded that it be deactivated and a case registered, an official said.

Delhi Women’s Commission has issued notice
The Delhi Women’s Commission on Tuesday issued a notice to the Delhi Police seeking action against some people who made obscene remarks against Muslim women on the app. The FIR was filed only a few hours later. The case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. He wrote a letter to the Clubhouse app seeking details about the alleged audio chat group’s organizer, which “made obscene remarks against some Muslim women.”
