Abhay Singh Rathore, Lucknow: Samajwadi Party leader and Rampur MP Azam Khan has got a big relief from the court. The court has allowed him to contest from jail. The election process was also completed on Wednesday for SP MP Azam Khan to contest from jail. Azam Khan, the SP candidate from Rampur assembly constituency, has been lodged in Sitapur jail for the last two years.

SP nominated Rampur Sadar
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav does not want to leave any stone unturned to return to power in UP. In this regard, he has fielded Azam Khan, a strong leader of his party, from Rampur Sadar constituency. At the same time, Azam’s son Abdullah Azam has been given a ticket from the Swar assembly seat. Abdullah Azam was recently released on bail from Sitapur Jail. SP MP Azam is yet to get bail in some cases, so he will remain in jail for now and will also contest from jail after getting a ticket from SP. However, Azam Khan may approach the court to come out for election campaign.

Azam Khan will contest from jail
At the same time, giving further details on SP leader Azam’s application in the election, Sitapur jail jailor RS Yadav said the court has issued an order to send him (Azam Khan) to the jail’s returning officer. After completing all the formalities and filling up the form. He said that after completing all the formalities, his form has been filled. The documents are then sent to Rampur through the Returning Officer. According to sources, SP leader Azam Khan’s lawyer had applied to the court for permission to complete the nomination process from the jail.
